Project Description
A second Seaside Fire Station location is proposed on the corner of 1st Avenue and Gigling Road in the Former Fort Ord area of Seaside. The project vision is to construct an approximately 13,010 square foot fire station facility and 54,106 square feet of training facilities. In addition to general operations rooms and office and living space for on-duty Fire personnel, the proposed station will include a Community Room for public use, two apparatus bays and a future planned 3-4 story training tower. The site would also be improved with community and staff parking areas, sidewalks along the site frontage, and landscaping.
A draft initial study and mitigated negative declaration (IS-MND) has been prepared for the project and is undergoing public review. The draft IS-MND was published on 03/21/2024 and public comment is open until 04/22/2024. Hard copies of the draft IS-MND may be accessed in the Seaside City Manager's office at 440 Harcourt Avenue, and the Seaside Branch Library at 550 Harcourt Avenue during regular business hours. Comments may be emailed to pwinfo@ci.seaside.ca.us or sent via US Mail to:
