RFP

The City of Seaside released an RFP in 2016 to find a partner to build a mixed-use development including retail and entertainment.  The development site is approximately 60 acres of vacant coastal land at the Main Gate of the former Fort Ord Army Base.  The site is also adjacent to California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) campus.  The proposed mixed-use project will include retail, entertainment, residential and hotel.  Responses to the RFP were received in December 2016 and were reviewed by a committee including representatives of the City of Seaside, Monterey County, FORA and CSUMB and interviews for top candidates were held on February 3rd, 2017.  The committee determined that the Petrovich Team was the best fit and the City is negotiating an Exclusive Negotiating Agreement (ENA) with the preferred team.  City Council will consider the ENA on February 16th, 2017 during the joint City Council/Successor Agency meeting at 5:30 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.

Specific Plan & EIR

The Specific Plan and EIR have been adopted for this project in 2010.  However, the market has changed substantially since that time, and the City expects for minor changes to Specific Plan to be required.  For more information on the adopted Specific Plan and EIR, please visit the Projects at Main Gate page to find more information.
