A Message from Fire Chief Mary Gutierrez

Chief Gutierrez at City Hall
It is with great honor that I serve as the Fire Chief to the residents in both the City of Seaside and Del Rey Oaks.  I am proud to join this hard working team of firefighters. I am able to bring over 33 years of experience in the fire service to both communities.  I will proudly work alongside my brothers and sisters to bring the highest standard of care and service delivery to all residents. Our professionalsim and service with pride and compassion will be demonstrated through our emergency response and community based programs we offer.  We look forward to the future as the Fire Station 2 located at Gigling and 1st street is designed and constructed to meet the growing needs of our community.

Seaside Fire Department Community Driven Strategic Plan

SFD has decided to seek Accreditation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) in order to assess and improve service delivery to the communities of Seaside and Del Rey Oaks.FD Strategic Plan Logo

In 2019 the department conducted a Community Driven Strategic Plan working with key  internal and external stakeholders and the development of strategic initiatives.

The department believes this work will help build more effective strategies that align with the values of the communities. Click there to access the plan, including major goals and to understand more about the accreditation process.

The plan was delivered to the City Council in early 2020.
