The Seaside City Council voted unanimously during their January 17, 2018 meeting to appoint Seaside resident Alissa Kispersky to fill the vacant City Council position created with the resignation of Kayla Jones.
The City Council decided to fill the post by appointment rather than calling for a special election, making the decision within the 60-day-from-date-of-vacancy requirement set forth by the California Government Code. Through an application, presentation and robust public input process, the City Council considered thirteen applicants for the position and ultimately agreed to appoint Ms. Kisperskey. The Council expressed sincere gratitude that so many impassioned Seaside residents were willing to stand up to lead the City.
Ms. Alissa Kispeskey is a Seaside resident, a current Planning Commissioner and is professionally employed an engineer for a local utility.
Ms. Kispersky will be sworn in during a special City Council meeting on January 24th at 7:00 PM in the City Council Chamber. The Community is invited to come and welcome Seaside’s newest Council Member and share light refreshments. She will serve in this position from the date of appointment until December 2020.
