Support PD Runners at the 2017 Special Olympics Torch Run

Torch Run 2016

On June 13, 2017, Law Enforcement agencies in Monterey County will be participating in the annual Special Olympics Torch Run. The Torch run will begin in the City of Soledad, then make its way through Salinas, and then to the Monterey Peninsula.

At 12:45 pm, Monterey Police officers will hand the torch to members of the Seaside Police Department, at the Seaside/Monterey border on Del Monte Blvd. The torch will be carried on Del Monte Blvd to Broadway Ave, then up Broadway Ave to General Jim Moore. Runners will carry the torch on General Jim Moore, and hand it off to CSUMB and Marina police officers at the intersection of General Jim Moore & Coe Ave.

The Special Olympics Torch Run is one of the largest worldwide funding events for Special Olympics athletes. We encourage the community to attend and show support for our officers in helping to raise awareness and fund year-round Special Olympics programs!
