2020 Seaside CDBG Business Plan Competition

Qualified Businesses located within Census Tract 137 (Seaside’s HUD Qualified Census Tract) have a unique opportunity to compete for CDBG grant-funded awards to stabilize their small business in the 2020 Seaside CDBG Business Plan Competition.

How to Enter/Qualifications

Qualified businesses must have no more than 5 (five)employees including the owner.  Non-profits are not eligible. 

Must be physically located within HUD Qualified Census tract 137 This is the area bordered on the west by Fremont Blvd, south by Sonoma Avenue, east by Noche Buena and north by LaSalle. 

Must have a valid Seaside Business License

Complete a Application Form, business plan and W-9

All applications must be received by Friday, April 17, 2020 at 5pm  Email your entries (no more than 10MB) to SMIkesell@ci.seaside.ca.us

Winners will be announced during May-Small Business Month!

All award winners must meet the CDBG guidlines as an eligible microenterprise. A microenterprise is defined as a commercial enterprise that has five or fewer employees, one or more of whom owns the enterprise.

But what about businesses in other locations? 

Your business doesn’t need to be in the qualified census tract to take advantage of free business counseling! Seaside teams up with the CalCoastal SBDC to bring ALL of Seaside’s businesses FREE counseling and business assistance services. Check their training calendar for events or give them a call  at 831-676-2017 and mention the City of Seaside referred you!
