The City of Seaside is inviting any Seaside resident interested in participating in a Neighborhood Watch Program to an informational session on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Oldemeyer Community Center, 986 Hilby Avenue, Seaside, CA.
A Neighborhood Watch program is an opportunity to empower citizens to become active in emergency preparedness and work toward increasing the safety and security of our neighborhoods.
This program is being reinvigorated by the City of Seaside Neighborhood Improvement Commission which is composed of volunteers charged with improving the overall appearance and livability of the City.
A Neighborhood Watch program is a group of people living in the same area who want to make their neighborhood safer by working together and in conjunction with local law enforcement to reduce crime and improve their quality of life.
Neighborhood Watch is one of the oldest and best known crime prevention concepts in North America. A Neighborhood Watch empowers citizens to become active in homeland security efforts through participation in Neighborhood Watch groups. The foundation of the Neighborhood Watch program is the information, training, technical support, and resources provided to local law enforcement agencies and citizens. Neighborhood Watch is homeland security at the most local level. It is an opportunity to volunteer and work towards increasing the safety and security of our homes and our homeland.
Neighborhood Watch empowers citizens and communities to become active in emergency preparedness, as well as the fight against crime and community disasters.
Reinvigorating the Seaside Neighborhood Watch program is being facilitated by the Seaside Neighborhood Improvement Commission (NIC) which is composed of volunteers to the City and is charged with improving the overall appearance livability of the City.
For more information about the program, please attend our informational session Saturday September 7, 2019 at 10 am or you can attend any of our Neighborhood Improvement Commission meetings the first Tuesday of Every month at 6:00 PM.
